Evaluation of the Reviews and Interventions Pilot Project
This report presents the results of the evaluation of Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s (CIC) Reviews and Interventions (R&I) Pilot Project. The evaluation provided information to assist with decision-making with respect to the future of the R&I Pilot and will feed into the horizontal evaluation of the reforms made to the in-Canada asylum system (ICAS).
Evaluation of the Immigration Loan Program
This evaluation examined the Immigration Loan Program within the context of three main activities of loan issuance, repayment and program management, and also the loans’ impact on settlement of recipients.
Evaluation of the Global Assistance for Irregular Migrants Program
This evaluation examines the relevance of the Global Assistance for Irregular Migrants (GAIM) program and performance relative to the intended program outcomes since its launch at Citizenship and Immigration Canada in April 2013 as a component of Canada’s Migrant Smuggling Prevention Strategy. The evaluation also covered earlier program phases dating from January 2012 when first established by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) to respond to a large group of Sri Lankan migrants bound for Canada who were intercepted in Togo.
Francophone immigration research – issues and priorities
This research meeting was organized by the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC) in partnership with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). The objective was to review the status and priorities of research on immigration in Francophone minority communities (FMCs).
Modeling the strategies and practices of NGOs and associations fostering intake and retention in the OLMCs in Edmonton and Sherbrooke
As part of the Roadmap for Canada’s Official Languages (2013–2018), this research project was designed to contribute to the integration of immigrants in official-language minority communities (OLMCs). To do this, the research aims to model immigrant reception and integration strategies and practices implemented by NGOs and associations working in Anglophone and Francophone OLMCs in two cities: Edmonton, for Francophone communities, and Sherbrooke, for Anglophone communities.
Evaluation of Canada’s Membership in the International Organization for Migration
Building on previous evaluations conducted in 2005 and 2011, this report presents the results of the evaluation of Canada’s membership in the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Covering a period of 2009–10 to 2013–14, this evaluation examined Canada’s participation, contribution, and influence in the governance of the IOM, as well as the impact of this involvement on Canadian migration policies and programs.
Evaluation of the International Student Program
This report presents the results of the evaluation of the International Student Program (ISP) and focuses on activities undertaken, outputs, and immediate outcomes achieved from 2009 to 2013, as well as the introduction of new regulatory changes in 2014. The findings were grouped into four themes: relevance, performance management, processing, and resource utilization.
Evaluation of Canada’s Membership in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance
Covering a period from 2009-10 to 2013-14, this evaluation examined Canada’s membership in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and how it contributed to Holocaust education, remembrance and research in Canada. In addition, the evaluation assessed the extent to which Canada met the objectives for its IHRA Chair Year. The evaluation did not examine the IHRA itself, the specific activities funded by the IHRA, or the program initiatives undertaken in Canada.
