Happy Canada Day! Across the country today, people from all walks of life join in celebration of Canada’s birthday. This may be the second-largest country in the world, but our sense of community and attachment feels more like a neighbourhood. We certainly saw this last month, when the Toronto Raptors won the NBA championship, unifying people all across the country. We love our geography, but we don’t let the enormity of it keep us apart.

Government of Canada helps Ottawa ease shelter pressures

June 27, 2019 – Ottawa, ON – The Government of Canada is providing $10.1 million to help the City of Ottawa cover the costs incurred for temporary housing related to the influx of asylum claimants. This funding is in addition to the $7 million provided to the City of Ottawa in April 2019.

Celebrate Citizenship this Canada Day

Each year, citizenship ceremonies take place across the country on Canada Day to welcome our newest Canadians. This year, 42 citizenship ceremonies will be held across Canada on July 1.

Helping visa applicants apply the smart way

The Government of Canada has launched an information campaign in India to help temporary resident visa applicants save their time and money, avoid falling victim to fraud and common immigration scams, and inform them about the best channel to use when applying for a Canadian visa.
